What People Are

Saying About StockMarketMentor.com

Fitz, Thank you,

thank you, thank you Fitz, for this wonderful site - and for giving us early access

to it.  -- Gloria

This is such a

wonderful web site. I'm learning so much and actually understand what everyone is

saying.  I'm so excited about learning and for the first time really feel

comfortable about investing in the stock market.  I really love that their are

women investing here like me.  Thank you all. -- style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Coxey

Dan: The site is a

masterpiece and clearly reflects who you are and the pride you take in what you do.

There is such clarity, more information than I ever imagined, and the Stock Market

Mentor is appropriately named. This community offers a unique perspective. The saying

'you can't teach an old dog new tricks' clearly is not correct, as progress is being

made. I now look at a chart in a totally new way and have begun approaching things

differently.  Thank you for what you do!  -- style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Strasse

Fitz, It's been

great to see this site take shape over the past few weeks. Thanks for the opportunity

to mess around on it during the beta phase and for taking our input seriously. Also,

thanks for the one-on-one feel you give to the site--I've picked up a lot from you

both by asking you questions and by seeing how you respond to others. It's good to

hear you're reaching the end of the beta phase--that means a little less work for you

after it's up and running, no? -- Newt

Dan, I just wanted

to say what a wonderful thing you have created here. It's been a pleasure to be part

of this, even in just a small way, from the beginning. The welcoming and positive

attitude that you're trying to cultivate here is very refreshing, and I think you're

odds of succeeding are great. That doesn't really surprise me since that's something

that I sensed in your writing in RealMoney from when I first started reading your

articles. I still get a chuckle when I get a response from you apologizing for a late

response to an email I sent a few weeks earlier. I still can't get over the idea that

I could get a professional to run a chart and proffer an opinion an a stock just by

my asking. I really can't thank you enough.  Speaking as someone who has often

struggled with terminology an technical jargon whenever I've started a new subject

matter, I know how hard it can be at the outset when the more experienced people use

very familiar terms (to them) that seem indecipherable. In my professional life where

I've often had to deal with lay people, I learned long ago that often times the real

test of how well you understand complex concepts is being able to explain them in

simple language to non-professionals. That's something that I've come to appreciate

in your writing. -- 10kken

Fitz, news trumps

graphics, always. I really like the library, too (dictionary tab). I can see how your

site is truly being targeted for those who want to take managing their own money to a

new level. Thank you for making it possible via the mentor! --

Hi everyone, In an

effort to improve myself, I've been blogging less, reading more, trading less. Fitz,

I love the charts and your analysis. I'm finding it very helpful. I've also decided I

need more of a routine. I have added reading your articles to my daily list. Thanks

for all your work. -- ml153

Fitz -- I really

like this piece. I know that it isn't logical that a split should matter because of

the arithmetic. However, many times a split does matter and the stock goes up. Thanks

for explaining why -- once again it is perception and emotion. By the way, great job

with this website. -- barb

Hi Dan: Sorry I

wasn't able to make the nightcap last night. I've spent all morning reviewing all the

blog posts and the website and everything is looking great. I think the blog addition

is excellent. It will help everybody communicate and learn from one another. Are you

still planning on doing the newsletter or has the blog format replaced that part of

the site?  Keep up the good work! I know you're putting in long hours trying to

put the site together but as I'm sure you can tell based on the feedback you're

getting you've got alot of supporters who appreciate your efforts in helping us

become better investors and traders. -- Paul

Just popping in to

say a quick hello before dinner with hubby. Dan, your site is awesome even though

it's under "construction." There's quite a group of diverse people here, and everyone

has been very respectful. It sure makes a difference to me.  You keep this up

Dan and your site will be one-stop shopping. Great stuff.  -- size=2>Profitbuilderface=Arial size=2>

Dan, Great website

and thanks for the constant education! -- 28ajc28

Fitz. My first

thought after reading this mornings post was "finally, one stop shopping" It took

many years to gather the list of sites I can now reference here. Good Boy! --

Craigy

I read the

transcript from the last Nightcap. What a great forum! Dan, your responses to my

emails and your columns have transformed my trading philosophy. -- size=2>drtonydc

Fitz, You have a

very polite and professional forum. I am very grateful for the opportunity to

participate and benefit from, The Mentor. -- style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Brick

Many thanks to all

here for intelligent and useful posts. Y'all are really great and thought-provoking.

-- sysin3

Dan -- Great

forum, great helping hand you hold out for others. Dan -- It just keeps gettin'

better!! Salud!! -- Hairball

Sold sofo +9%,

infy +2% thanks Dan; made my nut for the day.  -- tomcig

Fitz - FINALLY!!!

that was THE best explanation of how to separate the noise of other from your own

views. I'm a mechanical stock picker who never felt like I fit in over in that other

blog because of it. i got burned stepping out of my skin and trying someone else's

trading method too many times last year from over thinking. do to the nature of my

job i can only watch the action closely about 50% of the time. and now I've adopted a

method to keep me in the game by using the RUT 100dma as the guide.  I hope I

can contribute despite my simple methods.  Thanks again dan….for the forum and

for the freedom--

What

Mentor Members Are Saying to Each Other

Strasse if you're

in here I am here to help in ANY way possible...ask any questions…please don't think

we know that much…we don't! But whatever we know we will happily share with you….we

all started somewhere and no one in this "nightclub" has made it to the finish line.

No fear, just baby steps:-> -- Lugnut

Hey everyone

thanks for the recognition. Its a blast and I recommend everyone try to at least

once, make this blog, your blog for a night and write a real thought provoked post

about something you do related to trading, the market or just inspiration which you

feel real comfortable with. It's really great for us all. -- Craigy

Fitz, from what I can read on the chart, it has held the 200-day MA in times

past. Paige (yes, our Paige) is the one who pointed out that it is holding and volume

drying up. She has also explained to me the importance of the stock needing to hold

this line in the sand. Paige has been MENTORING me--we just never called it that,

until now! Paige has been helping me navigate a very difficult situation with this

particular stock through her TA knowledge.  I'm making SMM--my nesting place to

REALLY learn and keep on learning TA.  Thank you for your 200-day MA input. --

Lurkers, This is a

What Dan Fitzpatrick's Readers Are Saying

color="#000000">

Dan, now and again I just have to send you a note

and tell you that you help make me money. I bought AMGN recently (March 28 to be

exact) and made a lot of money. The seed planted that day is now bearing fruit. I

also want to thank you for showing all of us how to use indicators (including

fundamentals) in unison to help confirm our conclusions. -- Chris Johnson

months ago about AMLN and CHK which you wrote about much to my surprise. I doubled

and did VERY WELL. I still have both stocks. --

excellent chart reading lessons and the "been there-done that" info you have shared

with us bovines in the herd. You are fortunate to have a knack for being able to

explain how things are supposed to work in a way that can be readily

understood. I have learned a lot and have put it to use. -- style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial">George May

Howdy, what a great call you made on GNBT!  I'm now up 53% in

just a few days.  My greatest problem now (I wish I could have this problem more

often) is stop placement.  Would you recommend a trailing stop when a stock is

running up like this?  Currently, I placed my stop just beneath congestion on

the 10 minute chart from yesterday.  Also, I'm starting to feel piggish.

Therefore, I will take some off the table this afternoon.  Would you concur?

Thanks for all the great articles.  I am learning so much from you.

Best Regards.  --Nick

Dudley

Hi Dan.  With your guidance I now have every entry with a stop

and my exits are all on stops.  It is actually much less anxiety provoking and

keeps me out of nasty brutally bad trades.  Your writing has made it easier for

me to accept I am wrong and to accept the style that keeps me out of big losses but

in for larger gains.  Once again, thank you for your help.  --style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Dave Moriarty

Dan, you are our favorite writer on TheStreet.com.

You are always helpful for our investing. We are retired and thus are very cautious.

Your thinking is careful, and you have been a great help with your advice pieces.

Some writers are out on a limb too far for our comfort! Keep to your own path! Doing

good! Thanks for the education! We always print your articles and save many of them.

By the way I have traded PTIE four times and made $2,000 so far.

Thanks again for the stock. -- w:st="on">Everett Gregory

Hi Dan, I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you how much I

appreciate your writing. Your columns are very educational, thought-provoking,

objective, and timely. This most recent column about having a positive mindset is

right on. For years I have focused on my weaknesses and always overlooked my

strengths. I always appear to beat myself up over the bad things I did in a trade.

Just this weekend, I decided to be more positive and actually have a section in my

trading diary called "Success Stories" to remind myself that I quite often do many

things well. Your article reinforced the need to have a positive attitude. I always

look forward to reading your column. Please keep up the great work. Thanks. --

Years ago when I was a student in Pedagogy class at The Cleveland

Institute of Music, the teacher, Ruth Edwards, who was nationally known in her field,

said something I've never forgotten: "Flattery is self-serving whereas praise is

recognition of worth." I thought that was marvelous insight then and I still do. I

thought of it again this morning when I read your column and realized honor is due

(which, incidentally, is a great line in the film, "Russia House.") In any event I

recognize a good teacher when I see one and you are in that distinguished category. I

learn something every time I read your writing and in today's world of so much verbal

bilge (as in bottom of boat) I recognize worth when I see it. -- Jean Gellin

Much appreciated. Incidentally, your analysis has solidly

aided my performance this year. I am a single dad who trades for a living and I'm up

over 30%. I may actually be able to afford sending my daughter to a good (which in

Los Angeles is pronounced "private") high school. As I've said before, thanks for

your good work. --Greg

Dan, first, thanks for all I've learned from you thru the years.

trading history [being] the most recent addition. Keep writing, the technical

analysis is educational and the personal trading insight invaluable! style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial">--Tricia Crumbley

Hi Dan. I enjoy your work very much and want to thank you as I have

learned a lot-especially in getting rid of trades that do not work out and become an

albatross. --Dave

Moriarty

Dan, thank you for your guidance. It's rare to find someone who takes

time out from his busy schedule to guide people on their way and I sincerely

appreciate that. I do intend to reduce my trading frequency. I see that I tend to

lose the amount I made in a couple of well thought out trades on something that I

take just because I didn't have anything else to pick on the day. It's hard not to

crave action but your "one trade a day" rule should help. Quality over quantity. I do

not day trade but swing trade. My full time job as a s/w consultant lets me do just

that. Anyway, day trading is too intense for me and as you said, I don't enjoy it.

Too draining at the end of the day! I will follow the rule and let you know after say

a month on how I fare. My current rule is to just "Not lose money" rather than to

make money. I would rather learn now then pay up the market to be taught a lesson.

--Zarir Sidhwa

One of the best things anyone has ever done for me as a trader was the

day last January when you introduced and explained the Volume Price Bars to your

readers. My trading got so much better as a result of using the indicator to help me

set stops. I used to get stopped out repeatedly right at the bottom. But, this

happens much less frequently, now. Thank you! --John Onderdonk

Dear Dan, in all my years of individual stock research, I have never
